Research themes

Research interests follow several different lines, in particular studies on the languages of the Caucasus with a focus on Kartvelian and Circassian. There is also a wider interest in historical and political developments of the Caucasus region, including the more recent post-Soviet period.

Languages of the Caucasus

We have published extensively on the Caucasian languages with a focus on Kartvelian and Circassian.

Circassian studies

We have a number of publications on the Abkhazo-Adyghe or Northwest Caucasian Languages, in particular, on Adyghe and Kabardian (the Circassian languages).

Historical and political developments in the Caucasus region

Our research in historical and political developments in the Caucasus region, including the more recent post-Soviet period.
